Prague, a city of history and castles, with stunning architecture and the scenery of fairy tales. One of the few cities to never be bombed during the wars in Europe, its’ architecture reaches back over 12 centuries.
From the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Prague – itself a piece of history, dating back to the 14th century - you are set to explore this most unique of European cities. Minutes by foot to the Charles Bridge, built under the auspices of King Charles IV in the 14th century, venture through ancient cobblestone streets. While you might think Bohemian when you hear Prague, today it is a mixture of Old and New. World-class art galleries mix with modern luxury retailers, casual cafes are intermingled with Michelin star restaurants.
Not to be missed – Old Town Square and the famous Prague Astronomical Clock, still ticking after over 600 years and Prague Castle, with it’s ancient history and even more stunning views. Should you feel the need to quench your thirst, pop in to one of the many beer houses for a pint of Budweiser Budvar – the original king of beers!
With-in short drives of Prague are UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Cesky Krumlov and Karlovy Vary, and Terezin Concentration Camp – a history lesson ideally paired with Josefov, the former Jewish Ghetto in the heart of Prague.
For a longer adventure, hop the train to Vienna for a day of Museums and culture of a different sort.
Prague is a city that will steal your heart. A walking and strolling city – really, there is no hurry – everything is at your doorstep. Explore and discover something new every day and return to the oasis of the Mandarin Oriental for a drink in the ECAO Lounge, no better place to share stories and memories.
